Introduction to Focusing with Helen Bryant
Focusing is a gentle practice that helps us to connect to the wisdom available to us from within our own living bodies. Research by the philosopher Gene Gendlin identified this amazing and often life-changing skill which we all have but have somehow lost connection to.
When each of us can learn to listen to both ourselves and others in a Focusing way, it is possible to find within oneself places that are calm and accepting, bringing both compassion and possible ways forward.
Deepening the relationship we have with ourselves, can have a positive effect on the way we relate to our family, colleagues, friends and the wider world as well as often bringing a sense of joy underpinning all of our experiences.
Sessions, which are experiential, comprise a short guided meditation/relaxation for each of us to become more attuned to the body. Following this, there will be some input of the process of Focusing with group discussion and then paired listening.
My aim is for the sessions to held in the spirit of kindness, supportiveness and generosity both to ourselves and to each other.
As for me, I am a qualified and experienced Focusing practitioner, meditation teacher and Reflexologist.
