A guide to being able to join the monthly meetings via zoom.
You will need:-
- An internet connection either via Wi-Fi or mobile data. (Unless you have unlimited access to the internet make sure you have enough data allowance).
- A computer, laptop. tablet or smartphone.
- Ability to download the app.
- The invitation to the meeting with the link, meeting ID and passcode. It will come in an email from the membership secretary.
For example the content of the email will have these three parts, the link, the Meeting ID and the Passcode

Click on the invite link which you have received.
If you already have zoom downloaded skip to step three.
If zoom is installed already and have clicked the link you will not need to do anything else the meeting will open. However if this is the first time you have joined a meeting you may have to click on the link a second time once you have set up the app or go to option B.
The alternative is to open the zoom app and click on the join meeting button. You will then need to manually enter the meeting ID, your name as username (this might already be filled) and the passcode.
When you join the meeting you are most likely to want your audio on so you can speak to people. To do this: when you join the meeting it will say “join with audio”. Click YES.
Once the meeting is due to start the “host” of the meeting will mute all.
At the end if you want to turn your audio back ON: Click on the “audio” button on the screen. (This can be in different places depending on your device). It is a microphone picture which will have a red line through it if it is muted.
You can decide if you want people to see you or not if your device has a camera installed. If the red line is there no one can see you. Click on it to turn it on. (Again this can be in different places on the screen). Likewise you may be asked if you want to join with video so you can decide then.
The person who is speaking will appear large on everyone’s screen which is why it is important to mute everyone at the beginning of the talk. You can change the screen to ‘gallery view’ so you can see lots of people by clicking on the gallery button. To go back to the speaker click on ‘speaker view’.
At the end
Click ‘Leave Meeting or Leave’ to leave the meeting at any time.
