A Message from our Chairman, Barry Smith.
In light of the Government announcement I would advise you that, until further notice, the monthly meetings of Tavy District U3A are cancelled.
Also, all future trips , outings and activities arranged by the Social Committee will not now go ahead. We understood that Tavy U3A Group Activities are greatly used and appreciated but we would advise that, until further notice, that these should also be suspended.
If Group Leaders / Members wish to continue with these meetings they will become private arrangements held outside of the U3A Organisation.
One group is investigating the use of “Social Media ” to enable members to remain in their own home and hold the meeting via the internet.
Our one interest is to keep our members safe and to resume our normal activities as soon as possible.
All of the committee members phone numbers are given in the bi monthly magazine, please use them to contact us if we can help you in any way.
Our Website will carry updates and , as things progress , we will contact you again.
Please stay safe and we look forward to meeting you all in the not too distant future.
For and on behalf of the Committee of Tavy District U3A.
Barry Smith, Chair.
U3A aims and objectives are to enhance the lives of people no longer working by providing a social network of those with similar interest..We do this through more than 50 Interest Groups providing educational, leisure and recreational activities for the benefit of members in Tavistock and the surrounding area.Groups are organised on a self help basis where we share knowledge and experience. We have a good programme of social events and several active walking groups.
The speaker-program starts at 2.00pm at some future date.
