Details of the next three meetings are now on the calendar.

These include the Christmas Meeting on the 4th of December. You will need to register for this meeting in advance, as space is limited. I shall circulate further details shortly by e-mail, with a hard copy to those who receive this newsletter by post, but you should note that the deadline for responding by e-mail (preferred) or phone is MONDAY 25th NOVEMBER.

Since the last newsletter went to press, we have held our third Picnic in the Park. We were lucky with the weather, in that we managed to keep dry during the picnic itself. However there had been heavy rain a short time earlier and I think this probably put a number of people off, as numbers were down on previous years.

The format of this event is very simple and informal. We provide sandwiches and hot drinks and invite contributions for cake and other sweet and savoury items, although there is no obligation to contribute anything. Some people like to use this opportunity to meet up with a group of friends; others, particularly those who have recently joined are keen to find out more about our u3a and/or meet new people. There is no formal "activity" apart from eating and drinking!

It has been suggested that we might like to revisit the current format before next year's Picnic and I should love to hear form you with your comments on the event generally, both if you have attended one or more Picnics and , even more so, if for a reason other than being away you haven't. All comments, positive and negative, are very welcome.

Finally, as always, a big thank you to all of those who continue to provide me with suggestion for future speakers.
