We meet once a month to listen to classical music. Generally we focus on a particular composer for the first half of the session and we have enjoyed a range of composers from Bach to Bernstein, from Prokoviev to Poulenc. Recently we've listened to female composers, for example Amy Beach, and the Black Lives Matter movement inspired us to listen to music by composers such as Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. We generally use YouTube as we enjoy watching the actual orchestra and it helps us to better notice the instruments.
After a refreshments break we listen to music chosen by a couple of members, always varied, often unusual.
