This is a thriving group, with members who play descant, alto, tenor, bass and great bass recorders. The group plays a wide range of music ranging from Renaissance and Baroque to jazz and other contemporary music. Each session consists of a balance of playing known repertoire and trying new pieces. In recent years, the group has given a public performance at the Saint Eustachius Christmas Tree festival and at Tavi Fringe. An annual fee is payable to meet venue costs and provision of new music. Some music is issued on loan without charge. It may be necessary for new members to purchase a couple of books of music; the first six months of the annual fee is waived for members who have to do this.
New members are welcome, providing they can read music. It would be particularly helpful if new members are willing to play treble, tenor or bass. Tuition can be arranged without charge for those who are new to the recorder or need a refresher.
