Our meetings often work on a "Journal Club" basis, where members brings along something they have read that has caught their interest, talk about it for a five minutes or so and then throws it open to discussion.
Additionally, we have 'longer' items or demonstrations presented by members on specific topics. We have a projector so members can present using slides/photos or use visual aids to enhance their presentation. 'Longer' items can be 20 to 30 minutes in length depending on the subject matter.
Any suggestions for visits likely to be of interest to the group are most welcome. Members bring a wide variety of experience from science, medicine, engineering, technology and much more. u3a members without a scientific background are very welcome.
An annual fee of around £10 is requested to cover the hire of our meeting venue (the amount may vary year to year depending on the number of members and room hire rates). Are group share the task of organising and chairing the meetings.
