Following a very successful year of visits in 2025, the Events Committee have been having an interesting time recently seeking out coach visits for Tavy District u3a to enjoy this year.
The planning is now completed and so we will release full details of each trip as the booking sheets become available.
We are always very happy to have your suggestions too!
Details of these activities appear in the newsletter and the website in the calendar below. To join any of these, you need to contact the designated contact for that event. Some activities have only limited places – so first come first signed up.
Payments for Events
Our preference for payment for any events activity is
1. By credit/debit card on the card machine, to make use of our new technology, at
the monthly meetings
2. By BACs, pay AFTER you’ve confirmed that you are signed up on the list for the
event. The BACs details for Events CLICK HERE adding your surname and the name of the visit you
are paying for. Would you also please email the visit leader to confirm the
transaction.

Free time in Sidmouth to watch or join in the dancing on the Esplanade and enjoy the town.

On Wednesday 19th August we plan to have our Picnic in the Park ( instead of Town Hall Meeting on 5th August ), a chance to meet up with old friends and meet some new ones, for a chat by the river.
We start at 2pm (please avoid arriving too early as we need some time for preparation) and meet in our usual spot alongside the river path towards the Drake Statue end of the Meadows. The area will be surrounded by bunting, so easy to find.

As this is a catered event with sandwiches and hot drinks provided by Julie Credicott of Blue Skies Catering, I will need to know if you plan to come. Please reply by THURSDAY 13th AUGUST.
You will need to bring something to sit on and a mug for your hot drink. If you prefer a cold drink please bring it yourself. Donations of cake are welcome, and in previous years leftover food has been exchanged for a charity donation (this year Dartmoor Search and Rescue Tavistock Branch). Please also bring a sunhat or umbrella, according to the weather.
The committee will review the weather forecast on Monday 17th August and let you know if an adverse forecast leads us to move our planned meet up to the Town Hall.
If you plan to drive, the closest car park is Bedford Car Park, and public toilets are there too.
