We’re a group of fourteen members who enjoy exploring the wines of the world. We, five couples and four single members, meet monthly in our homes. The host chooses a theme, they select six wines - usually three whites and three reds – and add a few nibbles.
With a lot of sniffing and swirling, we taste the wines and discuss our views. The cost of the six wines is divided by the number of us attending, thereby we share the costs.
We’ve enjoyed visits to vineyards & wine producers in France, Jersey, Lyme Regis and Salisbury and look forward to more similar trips away. We celebrate Christmas with wonderful meals and matched wines. We also enjoy paired wines with summer BBQs and Sunday lunches, all willingly prepared by members at their homes.

Our group was formed in 2018 and whilst we cannot take on new members (as our homes cannot accommodate anymore people), we’d be happy to help a new wine group get off the ground. Just give us (and the Tavy District u3a Groups Co-ordinator) a shout if we can help!!
